Founders Month

Dear Brethren,

Brother Joseph Brandon, Baptist Faith Missions' first missionary, went to Brazil in 1923, serving the Lord faithfully, but in 1942 after having lost his financial support, entered into agreement with Brethren Hafford Overbey and Z.E. Clark to form Baptist Faith Missions. Brother Brandon and his family were to return to Brazil to continue the work he had started, and Overbey and Clark assumed the responsibility to raise his financial support. To fulfill this responsibility, the Mission Sheet came into being, and it has served very well these many years.

As the work of Baptist Faith Missions' missionaries continues to grow, so does the need for more funds continue to grow, and it seems that when vacation time comes around, mission giving seems to take second place. June is Founders Month, so each year we try to encourage each church to receive and give a special offering so that none of the work suffers from lack of funds. I know June is still a couple of months away, but now is a good time to start on that special offering.

Brandon, Overbey, and Clark have gone on to be with the Lord, so in memory of them and the great work they did while here on the earth, let us honor our Lord Jesus Christ with a very special Founders Month offering to the general fund of Baptist Faith Missions.

Next week Betty and I plan to attend the Spring Conference hosted by Thompson Road Baptist Church, knowing by the time you read this it will be over. We are doing pretty well for old folks.

In His Love,

Bobby D. Creiglow
