Dear Brethren:
The Baptist Faith Missions Summer Conference hosted by Pastor Ed Massey and First Baptist Church in Science Hill, Kentucky turned out very well for First Baptist Church, but not many people from outside the area attended. The format was somewhat different from other conferences in that it ran for five nights, with no services during the daytime hours. The members of First Baptist came out each night and the attendance averaged well over one hundred for the five nights. Some of the church members kept the out-of-town speakers in their homes and found it to be a blessing; that's the way it was done in years gone by. On Friday night one couple served a fish fry for everyone.
Betty had a bad week before the conference and many thought she would not be able to attend, so Brother David Sayers, Jr., installed a closed-circuit TV system in our home so that whoever stayed with her would not miss the conference. But, as it turned out, she improved and did not miss a service. She has had another fair week since.
Already we are planning and talking about next year, so if you missed this conference start making plans now to be with us next year.
In His Name,
Bobby D. Creiglow
