Dear Friends,
At the beginning of this month, I was starting to get a little anxious. We were making plans to start two new church works with the results of the marriage seminar we had in May. We were also planning to launch construction and outreach in the neighborhood of Diadema, where we have been concentrating our prayers and attention for several years. The tasks seemed too large to pull off in one month. I believe that this is one of the reasons that all these ministries went so well. We were forced to look to the Lord for His strength and leadership. I felt overwhelmed with the responsibility of finding locations to meet, arranging the finances to secure the facilities we would need and preparing messages for all the different occasions. God supplied tremendously! The time and energy I spent being anxious was wasted. The time and energy I spent calling on the Lord to help me in my weakness was very fruitful. The whole experience encouraged me to "attempt great things for God, and to expect great things from God."
We broke ground yesterday to begin the construction on the Diadema property. I have been to several of those "ground breaking" ceremonies before, but ours was somewhat different. The ones that I went to in the past were more symbolic than actual work. Not this time. At the end of the day I could hardly hold a fork in my hand from all the pickax swinging and post hole digging. It felt good, though, to be participating in something that we believe will be used of God to bring folks to know Him. Seven men turned out to spend their day off digging ditches and laying blocks to build the auditorium for a new church there. We had a great time of fellowship and were able to get quite a bit of work accomplished also. I want to thank you who contributed to the purchase of the property for that work. We believe that God will bless and that many folks will hear the Gospel preached there and be saved for His glory.
Several new families have begun attending the Bible Baptist Church where I pastor. Most of these folks were not church goers before coming to us. They were reached by family members who had visited our services and felt like God was working in us for their good. I started a Bible study group specially designed for these folks because they have hardly any knowledge of the Scriptures. Most of them seemed to be thrilled learning that God's Word is so real and practical. We trust that we will be baptizing several of these folks in just a few weeks. Pray for them as they face the implications of the Bible for their lives.
Charlene and I really appreciate all your prayers on our behalf. Please continue to do so. We know that we depend totally on God's working in our lives to accomplish anything that has eternal value.
In Jesus' love,
Bobby, Charlene, Jessie and Brennen Wacaser
