Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Savior:
During the month of November, here in Manaus we have had mostly hot and dry days and nights. During this month I preached 8 sermons. All of us present at the 24th of March Baptist Church on Wednesday night the 3rd rejoiced when a man and his wife made a profession of faith. We don't know yet whether they are legally married or not. Pray for Francisco and Socorro and her 10-year-old son. I heard some 10 sermons preached during November. The first two were heard by me and a few others at the grave of Joel Harold Bratcher and then at Missionary E.A. Nelson's grave both in the São João Batista Cemetery on November 2nd, the "day of the dead." I have also made visits in a children's hospital and in the homes of the people.
On the 27th of this month, Marie and I will celebrate 50 years of married life. We praise God that "through many dangers, toils and snares we have already come. Its Grace that has brought us safe this far and God's grace will enable us to stay together until death doth us part."
I just now read the notice in the October "Mission Sheets" that Brother Marvin Summers has resigned as pastor of New Hope Baptist Church. We thank you, Brother and Sister Summers for your many years of faithful service in leading New Hope to host the conference. May you both continue to be firm and faithful, fruitful and free of folly until the finish. Our Father, which is in heaven, will help you.
Marie and I wish you and yours "Happy Holidays." May we all continue to contribute to Baptist Faith Missions. Pray for us.
In the Service of the Savior:
Harold and Marie Bratcher
