We thank God for your faithful participation with us in the ministry of reconciliation. God continues
to bless. The Bible studies continue and we continue to have a good attendance in the services.
In our last letter we mentioned a lady named Benedicte who had recently started coming to Bible study
with Ruth. She continues to come and shows increasing interest and understanding. This Bible study is
through the Gospel of Mark. During the last meeting, we discussed the passage about the impossibility
of successfully mending old cloth with a patch of new cloth. We had a wonderful discussion on the impossibility
of mixing salvation by works with the true way of salvation by grace. Her response seems to indicate
that the Holy Spirit is opening the eyes of her understanding.
Ruth and her family are moving to England since her husband has changed jobs. We will really miss this
lady who has really grown in the Lord and has been very effective in bringing others to church and Bible
study with her.
Shortly after our last letter we went to visit a couple that lives four hours north of here in central
France. Their daughter, Aude, was saved while studying in the US. They had all kinds of questions and
we were able to share the gospel with them. Aude is now back at home and has begun studying the Bible
with her mother. Aude drove down to spend the past weekend with us so that she could attend services.
She really misses her family of believers in the US and is really having a hard time adapting to France
and living among unbelievers. The closest church to her is about one hour away. She has been saved less
than a year. Please pray for her and for us to know how we can best encourage her.
Judy’s annual check up showed no cancer. It has now been four years since her last surgery and
we are grateful to the Lord for the time that He has given us to serve the Lord together.
Our hearts go out to Wanda Turner and her children at the departure of Richard Turner. We ask the Lord
to fill their hearts with comfort. It is a delight to know that one of these days we will all be in His
presence. What a contrast this is to most of the people who live in France who have no hope. Their lives
are full of pessimism, cynicism and hopelessness.
Today, when Judy was at the public school to teach introductory English, the teachers mentioned that
some of the parents had communicated their happiness that their children were learning so much English
and enjoying it. Pray that God will use these connections to open doors for sharing the Gospel with more
people.
