Dear Co-Laborers,
May God grant each of you a fruitful coming year in service of the Lord. Time is passing, “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.”
Sometimes it seems like not much is happening here. We continue to have services, Bible studies, Sunday school but without many visible results. But, we believe that God is at work and we want to be faithful in what He has called us to do. We thank God in our prayers for your faithfulness in helping us. This evening we are having a couple for dinner which now lives in Silicon Valley, California. They moved from here in the Spring. We had Bible study with Shanta for a long time and they came to services, but did not make a public profession of faith. We are still praying for God to save them. They are like many others to whom we have shared the Gospel. Many no longer live here. Only God knows the eternal results. We are, however, thankful for the growth and faithfulness of those who are now coming.
This month it has been our privilege to have Markus and Jenni Nussmeier visiting with us. They are from our home church, Emmanuel Baptist Church, of Evansville, Indiana. We have really enjoyed the fellowship with this brother and sister whom we have known since infancy. We our looking forward to the visit of all of our children and their spouses as well as Judy’s sister during the month of December. What a delight to see what God is doing in the lives of our children.
This would be a good time to thank each of you who participate in the work of the Lord here in France in other places around the world. Your faithful giving makes it possible for us to be here. Your prayers are answered and God enables us to keep going and opens doors of opportunity. Thanks to you who monthly prepare the mission sheets for mailing in order to keep God’s people informed. Thanks Michael Holmes (and Mrs. Holmes) for placing our letters on the Internet site. Thanks to all of the directors and especially David Parks, George Sledd and Jim Orrick for there service to make sure your gifts get to us and you stay informed. It is a team effort and we thank God for the team He has given us. We hope that the Conference hosted by Park Ridge Baptist Church will be a blessing to all who attend. Thanks to all of the churches that host conferences for the advancement of the work of the Lord.
Serving Christ in France,
John and Judy
