Andrew, our son, has been living in Cruzeiro for almost 3 years now. He has come back to help Mike in the work here. He has been a great help. He has been corresponding with one of the churches that support him, by sending their offerings through BFM. Mike thought maybe you'd like to print his last letter in the Mission Sheet. This way the others who support him, can know more about what he is doing. It's up to whoever is in charge of this kind of decision.

Dear Brethren,
It has been a while since I’ve written. All is fine here in Cruzeiro do Sul.
I want to tell you about one of my main ministries, the River Craft boat factory. It all started the last year that I was in A&P (“Airframe & Power Plant”) school, while I was still in the States. Dad and I had an idea of making boats for our church’s missionaries, so we started praying and dreaming. I finished my schooling, and got a job at PSA/U.S.AirWays, for some experience. In September of 2002, I moved back home to Brazil. It has been a year and half that the River Craft factory has been running. We are building aluminum MIG welded boats. We developed our own boat designs. One of these boat designs is to substitute the native wooden boats that use tail motors. The Lord has blessed this factory so much that without a doubt this is what I was called to do. In this year and half we have sold 23 boats, have in the works a contract for 46 more, another contract for an ambulance boat, and were invited, at no cost, last year to an expo at our state capital.
Our goal with this factory is to supply missionaries with boats at very low cost or none at all. One idea we had is that for every boat sold we would take out 10% and put it in a savings account. Once we have enough money in the account to pay for a boat, that boat would be donated to a missionary at no cost to him. These boats would be used to take the missionaries to where they work and live along the river. Different from the U.S., we don’t have roads to all the cities, towns, or small villages. Roads are very scarce here. We do have a lot of rivers and tributaries flowing into the Jurua River that flows into Amazon River. Our city Cruzeiro do Sul sits along the side of the Jurua River. All the major towns to or from Cruzeiro do Sul are connected to the Jurua River or a tributary of this river. Our roads are the rivers as you may now have gathered. You now may understand how important it is to have this factory in Cruzeiro do Sul.
Please continue to pray for us and that the Lord may continue to bless the factory.
