Another month has come and passed so quickly, and there are many items to update each of you with. My wife and I praise the Lord for faithful friends who pray for us and support us in the States, good health, and several ministry opportunities here in Kitale, Kenya.
We also wish each of you a very happy New Year and pray that we would all use this time that the Lord has given us to the furtherance of the gospel and His kingdom. We are to "redeem the time" that the Lord has given us. (Ephesians 5:16)
This month is exciting for the prison ministry, as we are very near the end of the building project. There have been so many challenges since the start of the building, and many have desired to use the building for other purposes, but I praise the Lord that we have a written agreement which designates the building to be used for spiritual purposes only. This next week, Lord willing, the building will be completely finished. It has been very challenging, but I desire to stay faithful to the purpose, to be used as a place to train faithful men, who will be able to train others also. (2 Timothy 2:2) Also, I plan to use it as a place for evangelism training, as well as sharing the gospel with those who are lost and need to hear the "good news." (Proverbs 11:30) Also, it can be used for further purposes in the future, as the Lord directs and leads, so please be in prayer for this as well.
This building is indeed special, as I have been told out of all the prisons in the entire country of Kenya, this is only the second building to be built for spiritual purposes. Next month, Lord willing, the chief chaplain, who oversees all prison ministries in the country, will come to Kitale for the official opening of this building. To God belongs all glory and all praise for the wonderful things He has done for us and the prison ministry in Kitale. I plan also to take photos in the near future, and send to those who both gave to and have prayed for the completion of this project.
My wife is also doing very well in her prison ministry. She meets weekly with the women for her Bible studies, and the Lord is greatly blessing her ministry. The Lord blessed me immensely, as I got not only a wonderful help-meet, but an encourager when the times get difficult on the mission field. She truly is a Proverbs 31 woman, and I thank the Lord for her.
That is all the current information from Kitale. We will be sure to keep you updated each month from the ministry here. God bless you and happy New Year.
In Kenya,
Nathan and Carrie Radford
