Dear praying friends,
Today is such an important day in the history of our country, and I hope you are able to share this special
holiday with your friends and families. We are now over one half finished with this year, and I am amazed
at how quickly the time passes. There are many important items of information to update each of you on,
and also share vital prayer requests as my wife and I prepare to return to Kenya, East Africa in October
of this year.
I thank many of you for praying for the work permit issue that I announced in my prayer letter last month.
To stay in the country of Kenya, a missionary must have a work permit that is granted by the government
of Kenya. These are usually due every two to three years. My work permit expired last month, and I was
not able to be in the country for my renewal, so I was very concerned and was praying that there would
be no problems, as it is impossible to stay in the country without this very important document. I praise
the Lord that I received notification that my permit was renewed without a problem and that it is good
for the next three years. What an answer to prayer this is for my wife and I, and confirmation that the
Lord has not only called us to this country to serve Him, but He will also provide for us the necessary
items that we need in His time. We walk by faith, and we know that
the Lord is in control, and we praise Him for His goodness and grace to us to help us in our time of
need.
Please pray for my wife and I, as we are now in the process of preparing to leave the United States for
another two year term. There are so many items to take care of, such as flights, passports/visas, shipments,
storage, continued support raising, etc. Sometimes it can be very overwhelming when you think of all
that is involved to leave the country for this period of time, so please pray that we can get it all
done and that every task would process smoothly.
I praise the Lord for continued opportunities to share the work in Kenya. I am still looking for churches
and individuals to continue discussing the work with, as we still do not have the full support that we
need to return at this point. We are proceeding as normal, with a departure date in October, trusting
that the Lord will burden churches and individuals to partner with us to reach Kitale, Kenya, and that
we will reach our full support level by our departure date. A famous missionary once said, "Where God
guides, He always provides," and we continue to live by faith and follow where the Lord has called us
to serve. We have so many expenses here in the States, and also will have many upon our return to Kenya,
so we would appreciate the continued giving of our current supporters, and we also pray that God would
burden new supporters to join with us as we seek to serve Him overseas. Would you
pray, and ask the Lord how He would use you to reach His "harvest field" in Kenya, East Africa? If you
would be interested in partnering with us, or
receiving more information about the work in Kenya, you can contact us at the address/phone number above
and we would be happy to send you additional information.
Thank you for your interest in God’s work in Kenya, East Africa.
Mungu Akubariki, (God bless you – Swahili language)
Nathan and Carrie Radford
