May 2001
Dear friends and supporters of BFM,
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nathan Radford and I am considering missionary service in Kenya, East Africa. Before I present the work and people that I would like to serve in missionary service, I would like to give you my Christian background and upbringing.
I was saved at the age of 10 at a church camp in West Virginia. God spoke to my heart at one of the evening church services, and I knew that I needed a Savior and that I could not make it to heaven on my own. I trusted Christ as my personal Savior, which is still the most important decision I have ever made.
I spent all of my years in school at Calvary Baptist Academy in Hurricane, West Virginia where my father, Ron Radford, was the principal. Many of you are familiar with my father's ministry, and his death at the early age of 41 due to skin cancer.
I am a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hurricane, West Virginia where Millard Mitchell is the pastor. Pastor Mitchell is also a board member of BFM, and, he as well, has had a tremendous impact on my life and spiritual growth.
I am considering missions in my immediate future in Kenya, East Africa. As you know, my parents, Mike and Pam Anderson, have faithfully served in Kenya for the past five years. This past Christmas, I was able to make my second visit to Kenya to visit my parents and see their ministry. God used this time to challenge me to consider missions for myself. During the weeks I was there, I was able to lead the men's Bible study, lead the adult Sunday School class on Sunday morning, and to lead a Kenyan young man to Christ. It was during this time that God showed me that I truly could be used in His field if I just were to make myself available for His Service. Truly, the harvest is plenteous, but the laborers are few.
I need to raise about 2,000 dollars per month for my ministry in Kenya. If you would like to personally be involved in helping me meet my needs, my contact information is above. I believe that where God guides, He provides, and I am trusting Him to provide the money that I need to serve in Kenya. If you would be willing to help me to go to Kenya and assist my parents, you can send any money to our mission board, Baptist Faith Missions. They will be handling my support, and will send the support money to me each month.
I am available to come to your church on the weekends and share my vision with you. If any church in the Ohio or Michigan area is interested in me presenting this ministry to your church before September 30th, please let me know. After September 30th, I will be available full-time to come to any church that is interested. If you feel that God is leading you to support my ministry, you can contact me with the information above. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing how you will become personally involved in the wonderful work that God is doing in Kenya. Together, we can truly reach the world for Christ. God bless you.
Sincerely,
Nathan Radford
