Dear Friends,
This has been a very busy month, as usual, with long days and short nights. The Lord has blessed greatly. There were two major highlights this month - the first of which was the inaugural service in our new mission in Macapa, Amapa. The only way to get to Macapa from Manaus is by air or by water. Pastor David Ohana had Bible studies and we had already had fifteen decisions before the inaugural service. On opening night, we had twenty-seven people present and had a great service. At the second service there were three decisions; and this past Sunday, for the great joy of Pastor David, his step-mother accepted Christ as Lord and Savior. His father is Jewish and we are praying for him.
The second highlight was in Boa Vista, Roraima. Last Sunday was the opening service in a new mission in the subdivision of Asa Branca under the leadership of Pastor Junior. We rejoice each time a new mission is started and God's light shines in new communities. We count on your prayers as we reach to new cities and new states to begin mission works. You can partner with us by sending your support to Paul Hatcher, New Works; we request your fervent prayer for each of these new works.
Some family news - Mrs. McGary, Wanda's mom, arrived the first of January to spend about three months with us. It is always a joy to have her here with us. Our son-in-law, Michael Samples, who pastors a Portuguese-speaking mission in Norfolk, Virginia, is here for the month of January to work on the church and school's computer network. One of our dreams is to make our seminary training available on-line for churches and ministries all over Brazil. It is good to have him with us. Our youngest daughter, Michelle, is home on break from med school. Wanda and I are doing well. Thanks for your love and prayers.
