Dear Friends,
Anita and I hope everyone had a blessed holiday season enjoying the company of family and friends. Things were a little quiet for us here in Peru, but that is a real blessing! We seldom ever get to have "quiet time."
Looking back over this past year made me realize just how much the Lord has blessed His work here in Peru. I married five young couples; ordained three young preachers to the Gospel Ministry; taught three Institute classes; baptized a lot of saints into the church here in Huanuco; preached in several Conferences and special meetings; hosted two mission tour groups; and preaching every Sunday in Huanuco or one of the many Mission works. Anita stays even busier than I do. Besides being the best possible wife a man could ask for, she also continues to develop Sunday School materials for all of our churches and also Bible Studies for women's meetings. We stay very busy (and tired) but we love the work, the people and the privilege of serving the Lord here. We thank all of you for your continued prayers and support, month after month. We love you all and thank God for you.
The mission work in Huaral is ready to put the roof on their new building. Some special funds were given in December for this so hopefully it will be under roof before we get to the States on furlough in February. After the roof we pour the floor and put in the windows and doors. We thank those of you that have contributed to the all of the various building projects that are going on here in Peru. The works continue to go forward, slow sometimes but always steady.
As I mentioned in the above paragraph, Anita and I will be coming home for a short (four month) furlough beginning the first week of February. Several pastors from Tennessee and the Carolinas, and Georgia have already written and scheduled us to be with them. Pastors, get in touch with me soon if you would like us to come and give a report and present the Lord's work in Peru in your church. While in the States Anita will be having the operation on both of her hands and our daughter, Leah, will be getting married on May 15th. We appreciate your prayers and hope to see as many of you as possible while in the States. Until next month.
