Dear Friends,

The month of March in the mountains of Peru have been a month of heavy rain! This has been the most unusual rainy season we have ever experienced. The streets of Huanuco do not have storm drains, so when it rains hard the street in front of our house becomes a fast flowing river at times. So far it has not come into the building.

Anita and I were very saddened to hear of the passing of Brother Carl Sadler this month also. He and his dear wife were such an encouragement to us when I was a young preacher starting my ministry. He has always been a source of ministerial wisdom for me. He will be greatly missed by all, but we know that he is certainly happier now to be in the presence of the Lord. We also were shocked to hear about Brother Jim Orrick falling off the roof of his house and breaking numerous bones. He is still recovering at this time. May God give him grace to mend as quickly as possible.

Brother Jayson Minix and his wife Andrea are moving to Huanuco and we have been busy helping them acquire a house and get it fixed up so they can get here soon and get into the work. We hope to be able to help the Minixs get a new work going in about four months. They are still learning the Spanish language at this time. Please be in prayer for them.

Our work in Acomayo was down some this morning (Sunday, April 2). The good news about this work is that Brother Cesar Apolinario went before the church and announced officially his calling to the ministry and his desire to be pastor of the mission. This is wonderful news because up until now I have been working with Cesar as a lay preacher and we have been praying for God to raise up a man to pastor this mission. God never fails! Please remember to pray for Cesar, his wife Susanna, and his three children, that the Lord will keep them strengthened and encouraged in the work.

Last month I reported cancelling my Institute class because our Risograph printer broke down. Well, I was able to ship it to Lima and get it repaired. It is now back in Huanuco and working once again. Thanks for your prayers.

Many have called and written asking about Anita's hands. She is doing better; the right hand is almost normal again but the left one still continues to bother her. We still appreciate your prayers for her. God has been so good to us these past twenty-three years in Peru. Anita and I praise the Lord for all of you who have faithfully prayed and supported over the years. Keep it up! Until next month...
