Dear Friends,
Anita and I hope everyone has a great 4th of July holiday! Independence day in Peru is July 28 and
the folks here love to celebrate with firecrackers too; all night!
June was a busy month for us with two Bible Institute classes. The first one was held here in Huanuco and we had thirty-four Pastors/preachers attend. It was a good week and these brethren always seem to enjoy their time in these week long get-togethers. Anita does a wonderful job of taking care of those that attend the classes by providing great meals and making sure they are comfortable. However, I have come to think that they come mainly for Anita's cooking rather than my teaching; but at least they come!

I returned yesterday, Saturday 1st of July, from the North Jungle town of Iquitos after teaching the second week of classes out there. The Iquitos' class was down some with only seventy-three present. The heat was stifling but the spirit was great among the brethren. I traveled back to Lima from Iquitos on Friday night the 30th in time to catch the all night bus back to Huanuco. Needless to say it was a bit tiring.
Today, July 2nd, we had our first baptism at the new mission work in Acomayo. Do you remember the twin girls, Kathy and Carol, that Anita and I took care of for six months last year? Well, the woman baptized today was their biological mother, Tanya Agustin. Isn't God great! Only He could use the desperate situation of Tanya a year ago to cause her to see her need of salvation and at the same time spare the lives of two precious little babies by giving the twins a wonderful Christian home with two fine missionary parents, Jason and Rebecca Reinhardt. The girls are now up and running and as happy as can be!

Baptism of Tanya Agustin.
The mission work at Acomayo is growing little by little. We have had repeat visitors each
week now. Please remember this work in your prayers. We trust the Lord to allow us to have many more
baptisms in the months ahead! Until next month.
