"Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations." Matthew 28:19

What is a BFM Support Worker?
BFM's Support Workers program is another dimension to our missionary
outreach assistance. Mission Support Workers are individuals who want
to volunteer to go help our missionaries with support services. They
are usually young people who have previously visited our missionaries'
ministries, and the Lord has burdened them to go back for an extended
time to serve the missionaries in any way they can.
We want to encourage anyone who will volunteer to go and help our
missionaries. We especially want to help and encourage young people
who are seeking God's will and direction for their lives concerning
missionary service.
Support Workers who are approved for recommendation must receive
a specific and personal invitation from the missionary to come to the
field of service. We examine and interview prospective Support Workers
the same way we do missionary candidates. We review their salvation
experience, their interest in missionary service, and their specific
plans for what they intend to do to help the missionaries. They must
agree with our Doctrinal Statement and agree to conduct their activities
consistently with our beliefs, distinctives, and practices. We provide
them with contact information to our supporting churches and recommend
the supporting churches to consider them for whatever designated support
offerings you can give them.
BFM COMMITS NO FUNDS TO SUPPORT WORKERS. They must raise their own
funds for travel to and from the missionary's field of service and for
whatever living and maintenance expenses they will need while with the
missionary. They should not be a financial burden to the missionary
while they are helping there. ALL FUNDS THEY RECEIVE MUST BE DESIGNATED
FOR THEM BY THE CONTRIBUTORS. We will, however, receive the funds that
are designated for them and forward those funds to them on the field
through the missionary.
