WHAT'S NEW

The August issue of the Mission Sheets has now been posted to our website. Here's what we have for you this month:

  • Sheridan and Anita Stanton, our missionaries to Peru, give an update on Anita's health and upcoming surgery; report good news on two new building projects in that country; and write about purchasing a motorcycle for a national missionary to help him reach remote works in the jungles of Peru.
  • Our missionaries to Curitiba, Brazil, Bobby and Charlene Wacaser, write about the sweet fellowship enjoyed during a recent visit from Brother Darrell Messer and his wife, Shirley; give an update on the progress of the new Project Life dormitory; and share good news concerning the health of their son, Brennen.
  • Mike and Pam Anderson, our missionaries to Kitale, Kenya, write about welcoming our newest missionaries, Roger and Julie Tate to the field; Pam's work with premature babies and community health education; request prayer for a situation potentially involving a tax audit; and report good news about a building for their newest work, Wananachi Baptist
  • Our missionaries to Caraguatatuba, Brazil, AJ and Barbara Hensley, write about the visit in July of a group from the Heritage Baptist Church of Lexington, Kentucky; progress on the Vocational School and on a house the Hensleys have purchased; problems with an antiquated church bus; and ministering in the city of Sallisopolis.
  • John Mark and Judy Hatcher, our missionaries in Tournefeuille, France, write about an opportunity to share the gospel with a man John met in a grocery checkout lane; opportunities to present the gospel at a wedding anniversary and at a baptism; and report good news following John Mark's recent surgery.
  • Bobby Creiglow, field representative for BFM, writes about a Bible Basics class he has been teaching at his local church; gives a good report about Betty's leg; and reminds us all about the importance of Founders Month
  • Our missionaries to Manaus, Brazil (currently in the US), Harold and Marie Bratcher, write about their recent trip to the U.S. from the mission field; attending and preaching at the Bratcher-Porter reunion; and about preaching and ministering around both Manaus and Lexington, Kentucky
  • Harold and Ursula Draper, our missionaries to Cuiaba, Brazil, write to request prayer for two of the national preachers' wives who are sick; and write about the opportunity to both share the gospel with and minister to a family that has been left devastated by the death of the husband and father
  • Our missionaries to Urai, Brazil, John and Alta Hatcher, write about visiting the city of Sao Sebastian to share the Gospel door-to-door; report good news from the works in Urai, Sussumu, Rancho Alegre, Cornelio Procopio, and Marilia; and request prayer for themselves as they grow older
  • Nathan and Carrie Radford, our missionaries to Kitale, Kenya and currently on furlough in the U.S., write about traveling to visit churches; report good news and request prayer for McKenna, the newest addition to their family; and report good news from the hospital and prison ministries in Kitale
  • Our missionaries to the Alpha and Omega Childrens Home in Garca, Brazil, Odali and Kathy Barros, write about reaching out to evangelize kids in their neighborhood; no news yet from the judge; and special events by the youth group to reach junior and senior high students
  • Roger and Julie Tate, our newest missionaries to Kitale, Kenya, write about the "whirlwind of activity" they are in as they finish language school in Tanzania and prepare to move to Kenya and write about some of the unique challenges in all aspects of life faced in adapting to a new country and culture
  • Our missionaries to Cruzeiro do Sul, Brazil, Mike and Beverly Creiglow, write on the occasion of Mike's thirty year anniversary as the pastor of First Baptist Church of Cruzeiro do Sul about the many changes and growth over the years; write about visitors from the States; and report on the organizing of the First Baptist Church of Thaumaturgo

JUNE GENERAL FUND OFFERINGS

We want to thank everyone of you who have responded so generously to the General Fund in the month of June. In June, we gave $35,849.79 to the GENERAL FUND. Thank you, Giving Friends! However, we need to reiterate that we must strive for the goal of maintaining solvency month-by-month in our General Fund receipts and disbursements.
